I Wish You Love

Valentine's Day - meditation on a folk drawing

You blessed child of stardust in darkened room
A Seed planted in mother's womb
Two cells made to millions in fertile earth
Fed by mother's blood til birth

Out of the urn's warm sacred ground
You grew to reach for light abound
Out of the safe, pulsing warm
The vine that is Life was born

Pushes up, sprouts branches, you!
The Thistle Finch knows you are due
The trial and treasure of need
Of being fed from the thorny weed

Season by season bitter, or sweet- all is right
As turns the bird cold Winter dark to Spring gold light
Who gifted from the dead spiked pest
Lines in its softest down life's rough nest

And ever further do you reach
Climbing, growing each to each
Ever closer do you rise
To creation's eternal paid-for prize

You met it at your mother's breasts
It's claim on you never rests
Sseared or thriving, ever upward  you learn
That love's what heals all scarring burns

Look up to Joy!  There.s your destined place!:
LOVE birthed you. From the beginning LOVE is yours by Grace.

More love is sent, the more return!  I pray for you all a Happy Day of Love's Remembrance!

Scripture reference:

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people

I am the vine; you are the branches

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it

I bring you great joy which shall be to all people

A new heaven and a new earth

  1. What do I know? I'm more of a "roses are red, violets are blue" guy, but that seems pretty darn good to me!
